“Teacher”/“Bookmark”

I was presented with the challenge of designing a solution to “improve reading on campus.” My initial response to this prompt was Teacher, an educational program designed to make reading more accessible for students through multiple tools, learning modes, and reading-support features. The concept was inspired by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s Compass Program, which focuses on student academic success.

After completing the first version of the project, I identified opportunities to expand and refine the concept. This led to the development of an improved iteration, now titled Bookmark. The redesigned version features a more intuitive mobile-first layout, a broader user experience accessible to students beyond UIUC, and an expanded focus on the app’s learning capabilities to better support comprehension and long-term retention.
