The Glowing Glove
Although my primary practice is in graphic design, I have a deep appreciation for physical and tactile art. The intention behind Glowing Glove was to transform an ordinary, overlooked object into something unexpected. Its texture and its traditional purpose were challenged.
The worn, coarse nature of the baseball glove is intentionally inverted through the application of reflective pins that coat its surface. What was once associated with dirt, labor, and utility is reimagined as something luminous and precious. The object’s original roughness is replaced by a surface that catches and reflects light, allowing it to shine with a diamond-like quality.
Through this transformation, the piece invites viewers to reconsider ideas of beauty, value, and function within everyday materials.
