My Zine: “Stuck in My Head”
This project explores my personal experience with maladaptive daydreaming, a condition defined by prolonged and immersive daydreaming that can interfere with daily functioning, emotional health, and real-world relationships.
I began this work as a way to visualize the inner world I carried from childhood through adolescence. After experimenting with various artistic approaches, I chose to present the final piece as a zine, a small, magazine-style publication, because of its intimate, narrative-driven format. The structure of the zine allowed me to combine visual design with written fragments, stories, and quotations drawn from different moments in my life.
Through this project, I translate an internal, often invisible experience into a tangible form. The result invites viewers to engage with the emotional landscape of daydreaming, memory, and identity, and to consider how imagination can both comfort and complicate personal growth.
